LiAngelo Ball expected to hear his name called on draft night, either by the Lakers or the Suns. But when neither happened, his reaction was caught on camera on his family's reality television show, Ball In The Family, which is streamed on Facebook.

LiAngelo's anxiety was palpable and it ended in distress when Svi Mykhailiuk's name was called. LiAngelo's father, LaVar has always said that his three sons would all play on the same NBA team together. Understandably, the Lakers passing on LiAngelo came as a big blow to the family.

After being passed on by Los Angeles LiAngelo said:

“I was really hoping I'd get picked by the Lakers, but I'd seen that it didn't happen, but at this point, our best shot is being picked at 59 by the Suns.”

After hearing that the Lakers passed on him, he left his seat in the arena as he was catching the JBA's opening night game to watch the draft in private. But unfortunately for the middle Ball, the Suns passed on him also. Phoenix took George King from Colorado and left LiAngelo high and dry. All he could say was:

“That's the game.”

Ball's disappointment didn't end on draft night. He wasn't asked to play on any summer league rosters and his dream to play alongside his brother in the NBA took a significant hit. But the Ball family never lacks confidence. His brother Lonzo said:

“Whatever he's gonna do he's gonna go 110 percent, I know that. He gonna make it to the league. He gonna make it. For sure.”

Right now, LiAngelo's future is still in doubt, but never count out the Ball family.
