Luol Deng, who was recently waived by the Los Angeles Lakers, still believes that he can put up decent numbers for teams.

Nick Wright of Fox Sports caught up with Deng in Miami. The 33-year-old said that he'll showcase that he still has something left in the tank.

Deng was with the Lakers over the last two seasons though we never really got to see much of him. The Lakers, who underwent a change in management, thought it was best for Deng to take on a different role.

Because during that time, the purple and gold were loading up on draft picks and young acquisitions. And as it became clear that the Lakers were going to focus on developing its young core, rumors started circulating that the team was about to unload Deng's hefty contract worth $72 million for four years.

The rumors were put to a halt recently as Deng and the Lakers reached a buyout agreement. Deng agreed to give back $7.5 million in the buyout deal, taking home some $29 million for the two years left in the contract he inked in 2016.

The move is a clear signal that Deng indeed wants to move on to a different team — a team which intends to give him ample playing time. After all, Deng has achieved success in his stint in the NBA. He was named into the All-Star team twice, was a part of the 2012 All-Defensive Second Team, and was selected into the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
