Over the past couple of days, there have been reports about NBA veteran Omri Casspi close to signing a contract with his former EuroLeague team, Maccabi Tel Aviv. The European ballclub was said to be aggressively pursuing the Israeli forward, and a deal could be made official anytime soon.

However, in an official statement, Maccabi Tel Aviv denied the speculations, saying that Casspi's main priority at the moment is to strike a deal with another NBA team.

In recent days, various reports were made by the media regarding Omri Casspi and Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv. Omri will always be our home player, a highly appreciated Maccabist and his name precedes him. However, at this point, there is no agreement between Maccabi and the player and all the reports about the salary, the duration of the contract and future post-career positions in the club have yet to be discussed. Omri also informed Maccabi about his will to exhaust all NBA options. Should there be any developments or agreements regarding the matter, we would be more than happy to inform you.

Casspi has been in the NBA for 10 years now and has had stints with the Sacramento Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, and most recently, the Memphis Grizzlies. He won a championship as a member of the Warriors back in 2017.

At this point, there are no reports about any NBA team showing interest in signing Casspi. He might wait a couple of weeks more before deciding his next career destination, but if he doesn't land an NBA contract, Maccabi Tel Aviv and the EuroLeague will be waiting for him.
