Boston Celtics legend and future Hall of Famer Paul Pierce has been heavily criticized by fans for his recent comments, saying he would have had more championships than Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade if he had the opportunity to play with guys like LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Shaquille O'Neal. Wade won three championships with those stars, while Pierce believes he would have had five or six.

NBA analyst Marc J. Spears seems to defend Pierce for his comments, saying that the one-time champion's confidence gives him the guts to say he's better. In fact, Spears said Pierce was the only player he saw talk trash to former Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant.

Pierce and Bryant practically played against each other for most of their prime years. They met twice in the NBA Finals, with each player winning a title over the other.

Spears is implying in his statement that as intimidating as Kobe was during his playing career in the NBA, Pierce was one of the players who had the confidence to go up against him every night, simply because he believed that he was better. Pierce has also said in the past that he believes he is LeBron's greatest rival, another statement which most fans criticized.

Pierce is no doubt one of the best players in the history of the NBA, and he definitely has complete confidence in himself and his game. It is something that people cannot take away from The Truth, no matter how absurd his statements may be to others.
