Mark Jackson and George Karl are currently at the center of a controversial war of words on the mean streets of Twitter.

Karl apparently took offense to some of Jackson's comments during an NBA broadcast on Thursday, which prompted Karl to fire direct shots at Jackson and the latter's coaching resume. Jackson has come out with his own retort, and it seems that this is an issue that is not going to die anytime soon:

Mark Jackson first cleared the air, by saying that he was not criticizing Karl or his coaching style with his earlier comments. However, Jackson was not exactly in a forgiving mood, and reminded Karl about their head-to-head record.

Based on the above tweet alone, it would be easy to assume that Karl might have jumped the gun with his all-out attack on Jackson. Karl did not hold back, and opted to get personal with Jackson. He even had to pull out the Golden State Warriors dynasty card, referring to how the Dubs emerged as one of the best teams in the history of the NBA shortly after Jackson's departure.

While this is true, many still credit Jackson for laying the foundation for the Warriors dynasty. He may not have been there to see out the golden era of the franchise, but it's hard to deny that Jackson deserves at least some credit.

As for Karl, he too has a very impressive coaching resume. The 69-year-old was a head coach in the NBA for over three decades with six different teams. In the 1,999 games he's coached, Karl was able to amass 1,175 wins, which is good for a .588 winning percentage.
