NBA journeyman Michael Beasley and Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant go way back since their childhood days on the playgrounds of Prince George's County in Maryland.

The two soon-to-be NBA players shared a dream to play professionally, but Beasley recalls in Showtime's “Basketball County: In The Water” when he first realized Durant would actually make it that far:

“Every rebound I would pass to KD and he would do the same s**t he is doing now,” said Beasley. “That's the first time I realized Kevin Durant was going to the NBA. KD used to call himself KD like before anyone even knew who was Kevin Durant to be called KD.

“I didn't think he was going to be as big as he is today. That motherf***er … he was always special.”

Beasley was also the No. 2 overall pick the following year, though his career took a very different trajectory.

The two Maryland ballers knew there was something in the water of Prince George County, with a stiff level of competition and plenty of talented players forcing them to get even better.

This documentary, produced by Durant, tells the story of one of the hotbeds for basketball, the breeding ground of many stars who have carved a niche in the league.

Kevin Durant had a unique guard skill set for a player his size. As he grew taller, he managed to carry those guard skills into his arsenal of tools — something that makes him such a unique NBA talent to this day.
