There will be earlier times for a number of national TV doubleheaders for the 2019-20 NBA season.

22 of ESPN’s 36 doubleheaders and 12 of TNT’s 31 doubleheaders will start at 7:30/10 p.m. ET or 7/9:30 p.m. ET instead of 8/10:30 p.m. ET.

The NBA has also reduced the number of Los Angeles Lakers games with 10:30 p.m. ET start times from 19 to 10. The Golden State Warriors were reduced from 18 to 11:

NBA ratings were down last season in part due to the fact that LeBron James was on the West Coast. James is still the biggest draw in the NBA at the moment. There will be a lot of eyes on Lakers games next season since the Purple and Gold acquired superstar big man Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans this summer.

There will also be a lot of hoopla surrounding the other team in Los Angeles, the Clippers. LAC signed two-time Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard in free agency and traded for star small forward Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

For the first time ever, both the Clippers and Lakers are title contenders at the same time. The battle for Los Angeles is going to be a lot of fun to watch for NBA fans.
