Several NBA stars have decided to withdraw their commitment to playing for Team USA in the upcoming FIBA World Cup, which will be held in China from August 31-September 15. But for Australian national basketball team member Chris Goulding, the Americans are still one of the best teams that will compete in the tournament.

In an interview with ESPN's Jake Michaels, Goulding said that even without the big-name stars, Team USA is still stacked that it arguably has more talent than any NBA team right now.

“I can understand it's disappointing that the so called biggest names aren't going to be there, but when you're talking about Team USA and the likes of Middleton and Walker, these are superstars of our game. The way I see it is Australians have been wanting an NBA team to come here for years and even with these withdrawals, the Team USA that competes will still have more talent than any NBA team.

The players who have decided to back out from their commitment to Team USA are Anthony Davis, James Harden, Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Tobias Harris, Bradley Beal, and Eric Gordon.

Still, Team USA has enough firepower to compete with the best basketball teams around the world, as they will be led by Kemba Walker, Khris Middleton, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, and Kyle Kuzma. Things will not be a walk in the park the way most fans expected it, but the team is good enough to win the championship.

Goulding knows it, and most probably, players from other countries who will partake in the tournament know it too.
