The NBA Players Association released a memo to agents stating that they “fully expect that players will continue to receive salary on their designated paydays” while the season is put on hold, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The NBPA has yet to have any discussions on potential salary adjustments and do not expect to until an updated schedule is released.

The NBA suspended the season on Wednesday after Utah Jazz All-Star center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus.

On Thursday, Jazz star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell announced on Instagram he has the virus as well.

The NBA’s collective bargaining agreement allows the league to reduce player salaries by 1/92.6th for each game missed because of, among other things, epidemics. However, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen.

The NBA will be suspended for at least 30 days, that much we do know. It remains to be seen, however, what steps the league will take to prevent the virus from further spreading.

It’s also worth noting that there are talks about the league possibly canceling the season altogether, but the prevailing thought is NBA owners want to finish the campaign even if it means pushing back the calendar to July or August.
