The tale of how retired NBA player Gilbert Arenas brought a gun to the locker room will forever be one of the most infamous stories in all of pro basketball.

As it turns out, the Washington Wizards of the early to mid 2000’s certainly had a gun problem, as detailed by Arenas’ former teammate Nick Young.

During his Certified Buckets podcast, Swaggy P welcomed the three-time All-Star to his show and recalled a hilarious story how Arenas once shot him with a BB gun during an NBA gun awareness meeting.

You read that right. He shot Young during a league mandated meeting about the dangers of firearms.

“It’s stuff he did to me that nobody could get away with, just Gilbert Arenas,” Nick Young said at the beginning of his story.

Nick Young detailed how he and a couple of teammates at the time —  Dominic McGuire and Andray Blatche — once pranked Gilbert Arenas by shooting him with paintball guns while he was asleep.

Worried of a possible retaliation the next day, Young brought a BB gun to practice where representatives from the NBA were present at the time for the gun awareness meeting.

Young then detailed how Agent Zero got a hold of his BB gun from his locker and shot him in the chest right in front of the NBA representatives.

“Nobody did anything. It didn’t make news. Everybody acted like nothing happened,” Young said.

At the peak of his career with the Wizards, Arenas was one of the most electrifying scorers in the league, with career averages of 20.7 points per game in 11 seasons in the NBA.

He received a lengthy suspension in 2010 from then commissioner David Stern after he and teammate JaVaris Crittenton brought loaded guns to the Wizards' locker room during a Christmas Eve game.
