Free agent Nick Young certainly has a lot of time on his hands at the moment, and he recently shared his two cents regarding the NBA's dip in ratings this season.

The 34-year-old gunslinger took to Twitter to air his frustrations on why several veteran fan favorites (such as himself) remain unsigned almost two months into the 2019-20 NBA regular season.

“NBA rating are down because your signing a lot players nobody knows and letting your ppl champs go. ppl have a connection with fun players. like lance make”em dance or jr smith the entertainment these type of players bring sell. kids love to see the air guitar after a made 3,” he wrote.

He does have a point, as guys like Stephenson, who now plays in the Chinese Basketball Association, and Smith were considered as hot commodities among NBA contenders a few seasons back.

Antics aside, Young is still one of the most capable three-point specialists who could be of some use to teams looking to shore up its bench. He is a career 41.8 percent shooter from the field and 37.6 from three with averages of 11.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 720 career games.

Swaggy P, however, has never been considered a capable defender even in his prime, while his eccentric behavior both on and off the court could be a red flag for most teams. Young is currently on the same boat as former NBA Sixth Man of the Year winners like Smith and Jamal Crawford, who can't seem to get some offers this season.

Contenders are usually bolstering their line-ups near playoff time, and Young might have to wait until then to return to the league.
