The NBA Saturday showdown between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks got off to a rather heated start after Patrick Beverley and George Hill were ejected late in the opening quarter.

It all started when Bucks center Serge Ibaka and Timberwolves forward Taurean Prince fought for a rebound with two minutes remaining in the first quarter. Things got physical between the two and they ended up going face-to-face, looking like they were ready to escalate it to a fight.

That's when Beverley and Hill jumped in. Beverley shoved Ibaka to defend Prince, and in response, Hill pushed Beverley as he retaliated for that ugly gesture towards his Bucks teammate.

Here's a look at how things went down:

Fortunately things didn't escalate further as both teams were able to be stopped by the referees and players on the court. Still, that didn't stop the NBA officials from handing out punishments.

As mentioned, both Patrick Beverley and George Hill were ejected for their violent actions. They were each given technical fouls. Meanwhile, Taurean Prince and Serge Ibaka were given personal fouls–with the latter also getting a tech.

The heated exchange is definitely not a good look for the NBA and both teams, but due to the physical nature of the sport, getting heated against each other is not so uncommon.

In terms of the game, though, the ejection of Hill was a massive blow to the Bucks who were already without Giannis Antetokounmpo in the game. The two-time NBA MVP was a late scratch due to a knee injury, so Milwaukee could have used all the help they can get.
