Free-agent big man Patrick Patterson has denied rumors that he would join the Los Angeles Clippers following his buyout with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Per Anna Maria Tarullo of WOWK 13 News, the 6-foot-9 forward confirmed that his reported deal with the  Clippers is ‘nothing but rumors.' Right now, Patterson remains a free agent and is assessing his options before agreeing to anything.

Just last week, Patterson — the 14th overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft — agreed to a buyout with the Thunder, making him an unrestricted free agent. In the buyout, Patterson gave up $3.5 million of his $5.7 million salary for the 2019-20 season. After the news broke out, rumors surfaced that he would join the Clippers, who are looking to surround their All-Star duo of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard with quality players.

The nine-year NBA veteran has played for the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors and the Thunder. For most of his career, the 30-year-old has been part of a team's second or third unit. He's a decent stretch-4 who could be a valuable addition to any playoff contender.

For his career, Patterson is averaging 6.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He is also shooting 45 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from deep.
