Two NBA players — Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard and Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell — have been named Players of the Week for their respective conferences.

Kawhi Leonard received this honor for the fifth time in his career. He last won the award when he was with the San Antonio Spurs back in 2017.

The Raptors star received the award for his banner week, highlighted by his 41-point outing against the Washington Wizards. Overall, in three games last week, he averaged 30.7 points, 8.7 rebounds 5.0 assists and 3.3 steals. He shot 53.8 percent from the field, 47.1 percent from 3-point range and 82.4 percent at the free throw line.

Currently, the Raptors are leading the NBA with a 20-4 record.  They'll next take the Boston Celtics at TD Garden on Wednesday night.

On the other hand, Donovan Mitchell won weekly honor for the Western Conference. The Jazz guard averaged 31.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists over four games last week, leading Utah to a 3-1 record in that span.

Per NBA.com: “Mitchell shot 48.4 percent from the field last week and 48.6 percent from 3-point territory. He also averaged 4.3 rebounds and 1 block during those four games. Mitchell has now scored 30 or more points in three straight games, the longest streak of his career.”

Unlike Leonard, however, this is the first time that Mitchell took home this award throughout his career. Mitchell is the 53rd player in Jazz history to win the award and is the first since George Hill who won it in November 2016.
