Today's NBA is centered around shooting three's, but seven-time NBA champion Robert Horry isn't a fan of how professional basketball is changing. Robert Horry had a successful sixteen seasons in the NBA. He was a part of some major dynasties with the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets. Horry shot the corner three very well, but he isn't a fan of the volume of shots from behind the arc today. Horry recounted the time he served as a mentor to Lakers great Kobe Bryant in a recent interview.

“We used to play this game in practice where we shot threes. And of course, at first, Kobe used to lose, and it used to piss him off all the time. He would then practice three hours before and would still get beat,” Horry told Mumbai Mirror.

Robert Horry wasn't the best shooter from range percentage wise, but when he took them, they had impact. His career percentage from deep is 34.1 percent, which is below the league average. He shot as high as 44.4 percent in one season, but also had multiple seasons where he shot under 30 percent. Either way, he was a winner that clearly used his skillset to win a lot of games.

“The three has totally changed the game. It has made it great (but) the guys have lost their mid-range game,” Horry continued.

The new era of basketball is one that focuses on analytics. NBA team's want high percentage shots and scoring, and that probably won't change anytime soon.
