Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard sued Nike for copyrighting a logo he created without his consent.

Kawhi Leonard claimed that he designed the “Klaw” logo and he wants to reclaim it through a legal process. According to Shannon Sharpe at Undisputed, Leonard should get his logo back without going through a legal process similar to how Roger Federer got his RF logo back from Nike.

It can be remembered that Federer was once one of the high-profile endorsers of Nike before he moved to Uniqlo. After moving on from Nike, the tennis superstar said that he wants to bring the RF logo to his new company, and Nike obliged as they stopped selling RF merchandise.

Sharpe pointed out that Nike has no reason to steal or use the Klaw logo because they have nothing to do with since Leonard is already with another company.

After a falling out last season, Leonard moved to New Balance, who has been launching big campaigns for Leonard since striking a deal in November.

Leonard and his camp want the court to declare that the Toronto Raptors superstar is the sole author of the logo, having created it during the 2011-12 NBA season.

It is also expected that the Klaw logo will be used in New Balance products linked to the superstar forward.
