A lot of professional basketball players aspire to make it to the NBA. Sometimes, no matter how hard they try, the harsh reality of them being not good enough usually strikes them after several attempts of trying out for multiple teams in the league. But there are also those individuals who don't usually give up, and one of them is Satnam Singh.

In 2015, Singh became the first-ever Indian-born player to make it to the NBA. He was selected by the Dallas Mavericks using the 52nd pick. Unfortunately for him, he has never played a single game in the league over the past four years. He had two stints with the Texas Legends of the G-League and even made the Mavs' 2017 Summer League roster, but that's the farthest he's come.

But Singh is determined to make it to the NBA. He's currently training at the Sacramento Kings facility, hoping that he could get a call soon. He recently had an interview with Hindustan Times' Abhishek Paul, where he said that the only way for him to realize his dream is to continue to work hard. He also said that training with NBA players at the Kings' facility will definitely help him.

“I have realised that I will have to fight to the top. There is no other way. This is the off-season now after the final ended in May and I have not gone back home. I am training in California. I could have gone back to India but the facility where I am training now has top players. Several NBA players come here.”

At this point, there have been no reports about any team showing interest in Singh, but who knows? He could get a training camp invite soon. But for now, all he could count on in terms of reaching his goal is his courage and resiliency.
