The NBA has just announced this season's All-Rookie teams and as expected, the duo of Scottie Barnes and Evan Mobley have headlined the five-man roster of the first team.

This report comes via Shams Charania of The Athletic:

2021-22 NBA All-Rookie teams:

First team: Scottie Barnes, Evan Mobley, Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, Franz Wagner

Second team: Ayo Dosunmu, Chris Duarte, Josh Giddey, Bones Hyland, Herbert Jones

There aren't too many surprises with this season's All-Rookie teams, although the absence of the Orlando Magic's Jalen Suggs does raise more than a few eyebrows. The fact that the fifth overall pick played in just 48 games this season definitely hurt his case.

Two other notable snubs are Davion Mitchell of the Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets big man Alperen Sengun.

As for Josh Giddey, some might have expected the Oklahoma City Thunder youngster to be on the All-Rookie first team. However, he too missed a ton of games for OKC over the course of the second half of the season. The 19-year-old played just one game after the All-Star break due to a lingering hip injury. Giddey would have likely made the first team if he didn't sit out virtually half of the campaign.
