The San Antonio Spurs continue to slide in their fall from grace this season and appear prime for a reboot as they are firmly in the lower tranche of Western Conference clubs. They lost in overtime on Thursday to the Cleveland Cavaliers at home, but there was an eerie connection with the final score between the two teams.

According to CBS Sports, the note actor and comedian Jerry Seinfeld wrote down in the middle of the night during an episode of his titular 1990's staple program on NBC came to be. In a 1991 “Seinfeld” episode, the New York stand-up comedian had a healer read the illegible note, which read “Cleveland 117, San Antonio 109″—the same score that came to pass yesterday.

Most of the time people are pointing at another classic (yet ongoing) '90s program, “The Simpsons,” for predicting future events, like the U.S. election of President Donald Trump or Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, but this time “Seinfeld” gets the acclaim.

Of course, maybe it was just a matter of time and random coincidence that—eventually—the Spurs and Cavs would play a game in the future with this exact score.

However, conspiratorially, with the required score in their grasps, the Cavs and Spurs could have colluded to use overtime to make “Seinfeld”s prediction come true.

In the end, though, Kevin Love, thought to be on the trading block for the restless and rebuilding Cavaliers, poured in 30 points and 17 rebounds in Cleveland's six win through a quarter of the 2019-20 season.

Maybe Jerry Seinfeld should have predicted his hometown New York Knicks winning a championship instead.
