Newly-minted Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash appeared on Inside the NBA where he discussed everything and anything basketball. Towards the end of his segment, Shaquille O'Neal gave him a slight ribbing about one of his MVP trophies. Unfortunately for Shaq, Nash decided to retaliate.

Peep the clip below to witness the fun little exchange between Shaq and Nash.

To recall, Steve Nash won back-to-back MVP awards in 2005 and 2006. Under coach Mike D'Antoni's system, Nash was the floor leader of the high-octane and up-tempo Suns squad. Their playstyle took the league by storm. From a bottomfeeding team, the Suns became of the elite teams in the entire league. In the process, Nash was heralded one of the best guards in history.

While O'Neal seems to have been kidding around, he actually placed second in the MVP voting in 2005. Nash received a total of 1,066 voting points while O'Neal had 1,032. O'Neal was in his first season with the Miami Heat then after his fallout with Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. And right from the get-go, O'Neal proved why he's the most dominant big man in the league. In just a season, with the help of a young Dwyane Wade, they transformed the Heat into a capable playoff team.

Without a doubt, Nash and O'Neal are two of the best players to ever play the game. Over the last few years, Shaq has been doing his thing as a broadcaster as well as his other pursuits. Nash, meanwhile, is about to embark on a new chapter of his life as an NBA coach.
