Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal is teaming up with Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski to lend a helping hand by doing what they do best: partying.

O'Neal and Gronk have collaborated to produce a one-of-a-kind event that will all be for charity. Aptly entitled “Shaq's Fun House vs. Gronk Beach,” this event will be a virtual, live-streamed party and is scheduled to take place this coming Saturday.

Shaquille O'Neal made it abundantly clear that their event does not aim to distract the nation from the many issues it is facing today. As a matter of fact, O'Neal believes that it is quite the contrary.

“We’re aware of all the stuff that’s going on,” O'Neal said. “The country’s doing a beautiful job of bringing awareness to the situation at hand. Now’s it time for the movers and shakers to get the laws and legislation changed. But this is going to be a fun event.

“We’re partying with a purpose. I don’t want everyone to think ‘Oh, those guys are just partying.’ Because we know for a fact, and research has been done, especially by myself, music and sports bring people together. Doesn’t matter what your agendas are. Those two things always bring people together and Gronk and I happen to dominate both.”

Gronk echoed O'Neal's sentiments, saying that their ultimate goal is to unite the country.

“Whenever we’re partying, whenever we’re out and about, we just love to see everyone having a good time,” Gronkowski said. “We don’t want anyone sitting in the corner, just relaxing. We’re there to inspire the whole entire party.

“That’s what this event is about. It’s about uniting people. It’s about bringing everyone together and (to) show that you can have a good time with everyone, that you can go out there and have fun, no matter what the situation is.”

Several renowned artists are slated to perform in the event including the likes of Diplo, Snoop Dogg, and Steve Aoki. Shaq and Gronk will also face off in six different challenges throughout the show, such as a lip-syncing battle and a Buffalo Wild Wings challenge. Proceeds from the event will be donated to charities that both O'Neal and Gronkowski have personally hand-picked.
