The Los Angeles Lakers mean business this season with the summer acquisition of All-NBA talent forward/center Anthony Davis. Slotted next to now–point guard LeBron James, the Lakers are poised to compete for another championship—but NBA analyst Skip Bayless thinks otherwise.

On FS1's “Undisputed,” Bayless expressed his opinion that the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors are still better than the Lakers, despite the recent additions to the purple and gold.

The Lakers also signed free agent shooting guard Danny Green, veteran forward Jared Dudley, and big man DeMarcus Cousins.

The roster was completed with the re-signings of guards Rajon Rondo, Alex Caruso, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and center JaVale McGee.

The Clippers will be the Lakers' most formidable target, however. Competing against each other in the Staples Center four times next season, the new-look Clippers feature Kawhi Leonard and Paul George along with Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, Maurice Harkless, and up-and-coming players big man Montrezl Harrell and shooting guard Landry Shamet.

The Warriors, meanwhile, are under a bit of a shroud of mystery following Kevin Durant's departure east, to join Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan with the Brooklyn Nets, and Klay Thompson nursing a torn ACL, which he suffered in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. They'll still have Stephen Curry and Draymond Green suited up—plus one-time All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell as a stopgap, but their championship pedigree can only be stretched so far.

The Lakers will be tough to beat with James and Davis headlining the roster, but that doesn't mean they have easy competition among the Warriors, Clippers, and more in the west.
