The first returns on 2022 NBA All-Star fan voting have arrived. Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant are the overall leaders in votes for their respective conferences, each tallying over 2,300,000 votes.

Durant is leading the NBA in scoring at 30.0 points per game with Curry ranking fifth. They are both leading their teams to top-two records in their respective conference as well, making them easy choices for the All-Star game. LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo are the only other players to amass over 2,000,000 votes. DeMar DeRozan, who is enjoying a wildly successful season with the Chicago Bulls, leads the Eastern Conference guards (despite playing forward) by nearly 600,000 votes.

The Warriors, Nets and Los Angeles Lakers are represented the most on the first returns with four players each. The Bulls, Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat all have three players each in the first All-Star voting update.

Kyrie Irving, who has played just one game so far this season, is sixth for Eastern Conference guards while Klay Thompson, who hasn't debuted yet this season, ranks fourth for Western Conference guards.

Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose and LaMarcus Aldridge are the former NBA stars whose fans have helped gas up, as they are each present in the top 10 of their respective positions and conference. Darius Garland, Anthony Edwards, Tyler Herro and Miles Bridges are among the young studs enjoying breakout campaigns, which have earned them All-Star buzz.

The 2022 All-Star game will be played in Cleveland on Sunday, February 20th.
