Chinese basketball legend Stephon Marbury is changing the basketball landscape once again. Through his Instagram account, the ‘Starbury' let the world take a peek at a new basketball that literally and physically lights up.

With this new game trend, lighting up the game will take on a unique, literal meaning as you can actually play with a lit-up basketball with fellow players. It remains to be seen how the basketball's physical surface will feel on our hands, but this is definitely a creative concept moving forward.
This is not the first time that Marbury has instilled an interesting change in the game. The 6-foot-2 spitfire combo guard has since diversified the basketball landscape when he decided to take his game overseas after falling out of the NBA in 2009. He signed with a team in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), and the rest was pure unforgettable history.
Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe summed up Marbury's accolades in the CBA.
“Marbury needed rejuvenation. He needed to be appreciated. So he became the highest-profile player ever in the Chinese Basketball Association. In his seven years there, he has won three championships, was a six-time All-Star, and earned an MVP award.”
“And in Beijing, where he led the Ducks to three titles, a statue of Marbury stands outside the team’s arena, a testament to his impact.”
Now that the 41-year old has finally retired from playing the game, he is still looking for other ways to inject his profound influence on the basketball scene.
