Just like the rest of us, Boston Celtics rookie big man Tacko Fall was stunned when Orlando Magic power forward Aaron Gordon lost the 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Contest in Chicago.

Fall thought Gordon locked up the trophy after the high-flyer jumped over him.

However, NBA legend Dwyane Wade gave Gordon a score of 9/10 and Miami Heat small forward Derrick Jones Jr. went home with the trophy instead of Gordon.

During his AMA session with Bleacher Report, Fall was asked about the dunk contest:

Wade's blunder forced Gordon to end his Slam Dunk Contest career. The Magic star told NBA reporters in Chicago after the contest that he won't be partaking anymore.

To recall, Gordon has been robbed of two Slam Dunk Contest trophies, although the performance Zach LaVine put on back in the day was stellar. However, there weren't too many people who were happy with this year's results. After jumping over a giant like Fall, Gordon should have won.

The 2019-20 NBA season was suspended after Utah Jazz All-Star center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19. Fall and the Celtics were in third place in the Eastern Conference standings before the season was suspended while Gordon and the Magic were sitting in the eighth spot.

Basketball fans are praying the NBA season starts back up again in the summer. Sports will only resume if and only COVID-19 dies down. Until then, the “Last Dance” docuseries and Youtube highlights are the only basketball action we are going to get for a while.
