One of the biggest concerns in the NBA's bubble plan in Florida is how to ensure the health and safety of the players and all people involved in the resumption of the season. In this respect, the league has taken an important step to prevent further complications on site.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, one of the standard protocols the league is now taking is the sending of medical questionnaires to all participating teams, which will be filled out by each and every person they intend to bring to the bubble with them.

It is important to note that this is not merely a prerequisite or a formality. Based on the report above, it appears that the NBA can prevent certain individuals from actually participating in the bubble because of health risk concerns. Pre-existing health conditions and age are two of the biggest risk factors in contracting the virus, so it is very much possible that the league ends up making judgement calls based on medical recommendations to not allow specific personnel to join the bubble.

Earlier, NBA commissioner Adam Silver himself stated that older coaches would not be allowed to take part in the restart due to the health risks — something that he backtracked on shortly after. Then again, it appears that this might still be a possibility, not just for coaches, if the league and its medical consultants decide that an individual may carry too much risk in entering the bubble.
