Teams around the NBA are beginning to have issues amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but the league is adamant about continuing the season. Despite the rising positive cases across the association, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski revealed why the NBA isn't considering pausing the 2020-21 season yet.

The main reason why the NBA is refraining from taking a pause in the season is because they expected positive tests to happen. Also, the league believes that there has still been a decrease in positive tests compared to training camp and that players are safer by playing than they would be if they weren't playing.

There has been quite a few franchises–including the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, Washington Wizards and the Dallas Mavericks–who have been affected by COVID-19 more than other teams. The Celtics have had their last two games postponed due to COVID-19, and their game on Wednesday against the Orlando Magic will be moved back as well.

With the recent concerns that have happened, some people are wondering if the league will take a break to limit the positive tests. The thought would be to push back the regular season until players around the NBA could get vaccines and have more time to quarantine from the team.

But with the league ramping up their protocols on Tuesday, Adam Silver and the league are confident that the season can continue as scheduled. Barring massive outbreaks on more teams across the NBA, it appears that there won't be another pause to the season like fans had in 2019-20.
