There are a lot of anxious people in the NBA right now.

This is in connection to the recent news of an FBI-led investigation of corruption in the college basketball ranks that has already resulted in a few arrests including NCAA assistant coaches and the firing of one prominent head coach in Rick Pitino.

As a reaction to this explosive development in the amateur ranks, some NBA players have reportedly severed ties with Andy Miller of ASM Sports and one of the top NBA agents today with currently over $150 million in transacted salaries according to HoopsHype.

Per Darren Heitner of Forbes, at least three players have already terminated Miller as their agent in wake of the scandal.

On Thursday, I learned that several of Miller's clients had terminated him as their agent of record. It was believed that either three or four players had already informed Miller that they were looking for new representation. Among the players to have already confirmed their departure were 2017 NBA Draft 16th overall pick Justin Patton from Creighton and 59th overall pick Jaron Blossomgame from Clemson.

Miller’s sudden loss of clients is largely in part to his affiliation to Christian Dawkins, a former ASM Sports representative, and Adidas director of global sports marketing Jim Gatto. Both Dawkins and Gatto were among the 10 men charged on Tuesday following a two-year FBI probe on athlete bribery. The illegal scheme centered around individuals who pay athletes and their families money in exchange for these players committing to certain schools and shoe sponsors.

The NBA, however, is still mum on the issue per Jeff Goodman and Chris Haynes of ESPN.

ESPN reached out to the National Basketball Players Association, but its policy is “not to provide comment on arbitration matters whether ongoing or not.”
