While most  fans and players can't wait for the 2019-20 NBA regular season to resume, retired superstar Tracy McGrady thinks the entire campaign should be canceled amidst the world's ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 16-year vet-turned ESPN analyst revealed his unpopular take on Monday's episode of The Jump.

“As a former player, I would be in favor of calling the season off. I just think there's too much to go into having to start the season (back) up,” Tracy McGrady said.

Apart from the numerous health and logistical hazards that come with continuing the season, McGrady also argued about the players' physical conditions. The 40-year-old Hall of Famer added that players don't have access to facilities to stay in “tip-top shape,” which could cause injuries and diminished level of play.

Although this development would leave millions of basketball fans broken hearted, T-Mac does make a valid argument. Basketball does seem to be the least of the world's concerns as thousands of people are succumbing to the disease each day.

Then again, sports could be a great form of escape to help people have a semblance of normalcy throughout these trying ties.

The NBA, meanwhile, continues to look at all viable options in terms of making a decision to resume action. Commissioner Adam Silver and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban were recently handpicked by U.S. President Trump as allies in terms of restarting sports to help boost the economy.

The playoffs, on the other hand, was supposed to start this week. Instead, fans had to make do with replacements like the NBA Players 2K tournament and the HORSE competition.
