There's a brewing rivalry between Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and James Harden of the Houston Rockets. While die-hard fans of respective teams have been clashing heads to defend their stars, Austin Rivers reveals what really goes on between the two on the court.

Rivers recently appeared on the Load Management podcast where he shared what it's like when Giannis Antetokounmpo and Harden actually see each other on the court. While it's easy to imagine the two MVPs spitting trash, Rivers revealed that they don't even talk to one another.

“They don’t say a word to each other,” Rivers said, as transcribed by Essentially Sports. “They don’t talk any trash to each other. So it’s not like to the point where you’d be like, Man, these guys really hate each other. I think they both respect each other a lot. They just won’t admit it because they’re both so competitive. (…) I think James is so competitive, that he just doesn’t like somebody that’s also getting MVP. And I think it’s the same way Giannis.”

The indirect exchanges between Antetokounmpo and Harden are legion. From Harden's claims that Giannis doesn't have ample skills, to Antetokounmpo's slight jab at The Beard in the All-Star draft, it's safe to assume that there's a heated rivalry between the two.

While it's hard to pinpoint the exact root, many believe that it all boils down to that coveted MVP trophy. Both players want to stack up their trophies and forge themselves behind the legends who have won it before.
