Yahoo is parting ways with NBA insider Shams Charania, the website confirmed.

Charania, 24, ends his three-year tenure at Yahoo as its top NBA insider. As reported by Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Yahoo and Charania couldn't come to terms on a financial agreement. Yahoo admitted that they had decided to walk away from the negotiations:

“We made the decision to walk away from negotiations,” Yahoo Sports GM Geoff Reiss said as part of a statement to The Post, which praised Charania’s impact over his three years at the website.

Charania started way back in college under Adrian Wojnarowski's wing. The latter was still in Yahoo's The Vertical when he hired Charania from the website RealGM.

Last year, when Woj left for ESPN, Charania became the star of Yahoo's NBA coverage. The two battled it out when it came to the latest scoops and rumors around the league.

Charania's next destination has yet to be revealed. It's unknown where he's headed to next. It is unlikely, though, that he'll join his mentor over at ESPN as they already have a stable set of insiders such as Ramona Shelburne, Chris Haynes, and Dave McMenamin.

Reports reveal that NBC Sports Regional Networks and The Athletic are interested parties in hiring Charania.
