The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Miami Heat in what should be a colossal Saturday night showdown between the top two teams in the NBA. With that said, it’s a good time to check out our NBA odds series, which includes our Sixers-Heat prediction, odds, and pick we have laid out below.

Philadelphia came back from a 21-point deficit in the first quarter and defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. Tyrese Maxey scored a team-high 33 points to go with four rebounds and five assists. James Harden notched another double-double with 25 points and 11 assists while Joel Embiid had 22 points and nine rebounds. The Sixers have gone undefeated (4-0) since Harden made his Sixers debut. But that will be put to the test as they visit the East-leading Heat.

Miami, meanwhile, is coming off a bounce-back win as they took down the Brooklyn Nets, 113-107 on Thursday to spoil the return of Kevin Durant. Without Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo scored 30 points and added 11 rebounds, while Tyler Herro added 27 off the Heat bench. The night before, Miami choked away a 14-point fourth-quarter lead and saw Jrue Holiday coast to the basket for the game-winning shot to lift Milwaukee 120-119.

Miami and Philadelphia have split the season series so far. The Heat won the first encounter on December 15, 101-96 while the Sixers took the second a month later, 109-98. The cast of characters are obviously different this time around, especially on the side of the Sixers.

Here is how FanDuel has set the SixersHeat NBA odds for this Saturday night NBA matchup.

Philadelphia 76ers: +1.5 (-108)

Why the Sixers could cover the spread

The Sixers enter Saturday as one and a half point underdogs. They weren't quite able to cover the seven and a half point spread their last game out against Cleveland, but considering the way they've been rolling since the All-Star break, they could easily come away as victors in this one.

James Harden has certainly reinvigorated this Philly squad. The Sixers boast the league's top offense since the February intermission and are averaging 126.5 points per game over this stretch.

Many thought that sophomore guard Tyrese Maxey's production would suffer upon Harden's arrival. But the sophomore has thrived tremendously since sharing the backcourt with the former league MVP. In four games with Harden, Maxey is averaging 23.9 points while shooting 64.9 percent from the field and a blistering 70.0 percent from beyond the arc.

Philadelphia has yet to turn in its injury report, but they were a full squad against the Cavaliers the night before. Deandre Jordan is also expected to join his new team after getting bought out by the Los Angeles Lakers.

It's worth noting that the Sixers also have the best road record (21-10) in the East, to go along with a 23-14 mark against teams within the conference.

Why the Heat could cover the spread

Miami has been one of the better teams on the spread, with an ATS record of 37-26 this season. That one and a half point spread suggests this could be a close one, so fans betting on this game will surely have their eyes glued in case the game comes down the wire. The East has been a bloodbath this season, but this could eventually become a conference finals preview.

Aside from blowing a massive lead against the defending champion Bucks, the Heat have been dominant over the last month of the season. They defeated Durant and the Nets on Thursday despite playing without their starting backcourt of Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry.

Butler could continue to miss Saturday's game as he is listed as questionable due to a toe injury. Lowry will also continue to sit because of personal reasons. In addition, PJ Tucker (knee), Max Strus (shoulder), and Caleb Martin (Achilles) are also questionable.

Miami has been the strongest Eastern Conference team at home with a record of 21-7. They are also 27-13 against East teams.

Final SixersHeat Prediction & Pick

The Heat have a strong over/under record at 37-26, while the Sixers are only at 28-33. With Philadelphia coming out on fire following the All-Star break and Miami averaging 114.3 points over its last four, this should be an easy over for this contest.

As for the spread, this is tough, but I'll probably go with the Sixers for this one. Philly's cracks showed a little bit in their last game against Cleveland and Miami could prove to be a tougher challenge to overcome if they start slow again. Still, it is a bit worrisome if the Heat continue to be without Butler and Lowry, and are likewise dealing with other injuries from their supporting cast. On the other hand, the Sixers are not just rolling, but they are fully healthy as well.

Final SixersHeat Prediction & Pick: Sixers: +1.5 (-108) and over: 219.5 (-110)
