The Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz will play in an inter-conference matchup on Thursday night. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Jazz-Hawks prediction and pick.

The Hawks will host the Jazz on Thursday in a battle of two teams who were hoping to be still playing late in the postseason. Atlanta is off to a 4-4 start after a loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. The Jazz are 6-1 (3-1 on the road) and will look to take advantage of what may be a tired Hawks roster that will be on the second night of a back-to-back, also having traveled back to Atlanta from Brooklyn late last night. The Jazz did not play Wednesday, presenting them with a clear rest advantage over the Hawks in this spot.

Here's how the bookmakers have set the Jazz-Hawks odds for this Thursday night matchup.

NBA Odds: Jazz-Hawks Odds

Utah Jazz -2 (-106), -124 ML

Atlanta Hawks +2 (-114), +106 ML

Why The Jazz Can Cover The Spread

The Jazz look like one of the best teams in the NBA again this season. They play team basketball on both ends of the court, and really don't give their opponents anything. They take care of the basketball, play sound defense and make shots at an extremely high level. Quin Snyder remains one of the top coaches in the NBA, and he has the Jazz rolling right out of the gate in 2021-22. The Jazz have the second best net rating in the NBA, ranking third in defense and fourth in offense so far this season. Utah could be in a great position to cover and win on Thursday, as they are slim favorites over a Hawks team that played last night and could look to rest some key players.

Why The Hawks Can Cover The Spread

The Hawks are 3-0 at home this season, but facing the Jazz on the second night of a back-to-back will be by far their toughest test in State Farm Arena so far this season. John Collins was questionable with a foot sprain before playing big minutes Wednesday vs. the Nets, so he could be a candidate to get some rest on Thursday vs. Utah. Trae Young and Bogdan Bogdanovic were also on Wednesday's reporting, being listed as probable before starting and playing. Thursday's report won't be out until later in the day, but it's also not impossible the Hawks could rest one (or both) of their starting guards or other starters. The Hawks are risky play here as a small underdog on the second night of a back-to-back, so do not bet them until you see final word on who's in and who's out. If they're missing one or more starters, the number will increase here.

Final Jazz-Hawks Prediction & Pick

The Jazz are the better team and have the rest advantage. Take the Jazz to cover and win Thursday in Atlanta.
