The Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs will play in a Western Conference matchup on Tuesday night. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Lakers-Spurs prediction and pick.

The Lakers and Spurs are set to battle on Tuesday. Los Angels picked up their first win of the season at home on Sunday night vs. the Memphis Grizzlies. They will now look for their first road win of the season in San Antonio. The Lakers won two of the three matchups between the two teams last season. The Spurs will look to continue playing through young guys like Keldon Johnson and Dejounte Murray as Gregg Popovich looks to retool what is one of the more inexperienced rosters he's coached in quite some time. Russell Westbrook will look to find his groove alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who are combining for over 50 points per game and providing a very large percentage of the Lakers offense through three games.

Here's how the bookmakers have set the Lakers-Spurs odds for this Tuesday matchup.

NBA Odds: Lakers-Spurs Odds

Los Angeles Lakers  -3 (-108), -146 ML

San Antonio Spurs +3 (-112), +124 ML

Over 223.5 points (-110)

Under 223.5 points (-110)

Why The Lakers Can Cover The Spread

The Lakers should continue to get better as they create chemistry. Much of their rotation alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, including Russell Westbrook, is new obviously, so this is just going to take time. The Westbrook fit may never be perfect, but it is not time to panic in Los Angeles just yet. The spacing issue created when Westbrook plays off the ball is always something that has to be navigated, and it's been a tough fit in multiple stops before. The Lakers will look to continue to find a balance that works between Westbrook, James and Davis, though the early returns have been ugly. They will still be the more talented team in the building on Tuesday night, and they will be eager to pull out the win to get back to .500.

Talen Horton-Tucker, Wayne Ellington and Trevor Ariza, who all could become valuable rotation pieces for the Lakers this season, are both out for Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Why The Spurs Can Cover The Spread

The Spurs are the younger team here, and have been off since Saturday when they lost to the Milwaukee Bucks at home. They are the younger team Tuesday, and may look to push the pace and force and older Lakers group to play defense in transition. Particularly against the current second unit that features Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony and Rajon Rondo at times, the Spurs should look to run the break and force that lineup to play unset defense. The Lakers have been a mess offensively this season, and while the Spurs haven't been great in their own right, they might be catching Los Angels at the right time to pull off the upset.

Final Lakers-Spurs Prediction & Pick

The Lakers are struggling, but they still have LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The line is moving towards the Spurs and may reach 2 or 2.5 by tip, but take the Lakers to pull out the win tonight in Texas.
