The Orlando Magic head out to LA to take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center. This game features a tale of two stories as the Magic are coming off of their recent yard sale while the Clippers are scorching hot. You have to feel for Orlando as they are now playing with a trimmed and depleted roster. Moving Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier at the deadline sucked out the little life that this team had in 2021. Better luck next year. The Clippers are on the second leg of a back-to-back, which means Leonard, George, or both likely won't suit up. Regardless, the Clippers know that they have to take care of business in these spots if they want to win a championship. It’s time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Magic-Clippers prediction and pick.

Here’s how sportsbooks have set the opening Magic-Clippers odds.

NBA Odds: Magic-Clippers Odds

Orlando Magic +11.5 (-115)

Los Angeles Clippers -11.5 (-105)

Over 215 Points (-115)

Under 215 Points (-105)

Why The Magic Could Cover The Spread

The Orlando Magic have had a very disappointing season in 2021. They just put the nail in the coffin when they dealt their three best players, Nikola Vucevic, Evan Fournier, and Aaron Gordon at the trade deadline. They got solid returns and have a promising future, but a game on a Tuesday night against the Clippers couldn't mean less to them right now. With that being said, Orlando is 2-0 ATS since the fire sale with a seven-point loss to Portland and a three-point loss against a depleted Lakers bunch.

The Magic have seen nice production from a few outliers. Dwayne Bacon has stepped up nicely, putting up 26 in the loss against the Lakers. Rookie Chuma Okeke also has a great opportunity and has made the most of it this far, registering 53 points in his last three games combined. An 11.5 point spread looks enticing to Magic bettors given the fact that they're still 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games and likely won't see Serge Ibaka, Pat Beverley, and Paul George or Kawhi Leonard on the other side of the floor.

Why The Clippers Could Cover The Spread

The Los Angeles Clippers have been one of the best teams in the league in 2021. They are absolutely cooking lately, too. The Clippers enter this game looking for their sixth win in a row. All five of their wins during the current streak have come by at least nine points. They defeated the East-leading Philadelphia 76ers by double digits during the streak. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard combined for 52 points in that win and Terrance Mann provided some solid depth as well.

Mann has been on a tear of late with some added playing time. He has averaged 27 minutes per game off the bench for the Clips. He is averaging over 15 points and seven rebounds per game during the current five-game winning streak as well. LA has a few glaring trends working in their favor. They are 4-0 ATS after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. They are also 4-1 ATS in their last five against Orlando in LA. The Clippers lead the league in three-point and free throw percentages in 2021 and are currently 6-0 ATS in their last six games at the Staples Center.

Final Magic-Clippers Prediction & Pick

I know this may seem like the easy pick in this spot, but it is also the right one. The Clippers are in a prime spot to absolutely demolish the Orlando Magic. Even with the uncertainty of George and Leonard tonight, the Clippers still possess the firepower and depth to dominate in this game. Some may say 11.5 points is too much, but I say it's generous. LA has a chance to win this game by 30+.

FINAL PICK: Los Angeles Clippers -11.5 (-105)
