Why The Nuggets Can Cover The Spread
Anytime you have the league MVP, you have a shot. Jokic commands the floor like few big men ever have, running the Nuggets offense like a well oiled machine. While they are still missing Jamal Murray, they have plenty of other options to hold them over. Michael Porter Jr. will look to continue his role as the Nuggets second option, while the team as a group will have their hands full trying to guard a deep Suns group. Jokic putting up a huge game, with some punch added from Porter Jr. will probably be what it takes to beat a tough Suns group on their home floor come Wednesday night.
Why The Suns Can Cover The Spread
The Suns open the season on their home floor following their NBA Finals appearance earlier this year. They largely brought back the same group, and Paul and Booker will look to lead them on another quest for a high seed in the Western Conference. Deandre Ayton didn't get the new contract he wanted, so he may have extra motivation in the matchup vs. Jokic on Wednesday night. Coach Monty Williams will look to lead his Suns to a victory to kick off the new season. Denver's guards will likely have a tough time matching up with Paul and Booker, like they did in the playoffs.
