Why The Pacers Cover The Spread
The Pacers have struggled a bit this season, but they have won their of their last five games. Indiana is just 3-9 on the road this season, but they might be in a good position for rebound vs. a Minnesota team that is just 6-6 at home. The Timberwolves have won their last four at home, however. Indiana is 5-5 in their last ten games after starting the season 4-8. They have a +1.4 point differential despite being four games under .500.
As just slim underdogs on the road vs. a hot team, it seems risky to bet on the Pacers on Monday night. Indiana is 11-11 vs. the spread this season, and 4-3 vs. the Western Conference. Betting on a cover at this number is risky, particularly with how poorly the Pacers have played on the road at times this season. The Pacers will also be at a rest disadvantage in this one after losing at home last night to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Minnesota should be in good position for a cover and a win on Monday vs. the Pacers as a mild favorite. The Timberwolves are 10-10 vs. the spread this season, but they have covered in their last five home games. A win and a cover should be very doable Monday night for the Timberwolves, who have been the better team of late. Minnesota will have the rest advantage as they last played Saturday when they beat the Philadelphia 76ers.

Take the Timberwolves to cover and win vs. the Pacers at home on Wednesday. This may be the best bet on the NBA slate on Monday. Indiana will be on a back-to-back after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night. Minnesota has been the much better offense of late and they should be able to outscore the Pacers even if they aren't playing great defense. The Timberwolves have scored 120 points or more in three of their last five games, while Indiana has done that just once in their last five contests.
