Kevin Durant is having an MVP caliber start to his season, while Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns are looking to continue to grow together. The Nets come in as strong favorites on their home floor ahead of Friday's matchup with the Timberwolves.

Why The Timberwolves Can Cover The Spread
Minnesota has been much better of late after a rough start to the season. The Timberwolves have went 7-3 over their last ten games to pull back to 11-11. Anthony Edwards looks like a budding star alongside Karl-Anthony Towns, who is one of the games best young centers. They will have their hands full on Friday when they face the surging Nets, who are 8-2 in their last ten contests. Kevin Durant and James Harden are still one of, if not the best 1-2 punch in the NBA. Minnesota may not have many answers for them defensively, so they will need to score.
This hasn't been an issue of late as the Timberwolves are averaging 111.2 points per 100 possessions over their last 10 games. The Timberwolves' +7.6 net rating over that period ranks seventh in the NBA, as their defense is holding teams to just 103.6 points per 100 possessions.
Minnesota is getting a fair amount of points on Friday, but a cover and win will still be difficult. In order to hang with the Nets, you must play a complete game. The Timberwolves have a solid shot to cover on Friday, but a win will be difficult as the Nets are healthy outside of Joe Harris being sidelined for the next few weeks. The Wolves do have some injury concerns of their own coming into this one, as Edwards is probable and Towns is questionable.
Why The Nets Cover The Spread
The Nets will have a great shot to wins and cover in this one, especially if Edwards or Towns is unable to go. Durant and Harden have been on a mission of late, and it may not be a good time to run into them (as if there ever is one). Brooklyn will look to continue to rack up the wins in an effort to remain the No. 1 seed in the East, as home court is always a big deal come playoff time. The Nets should be in good shape for the win on Friday, and the cover is certainly in play as well as the Wolves are a bit banged up heading into this one.

Take the Nets to cover and win vs. the Timberwolves on Friday. The spread is not small, but the Nets have been clicking and should be able to pull away from Minnesota at some point.
