The Minnesota Timberwolves will pay a visit to TD Garden to take on the Boston Celtics on Sunday night. With that said, it’s a good time to check out our NBA odds series, which includes our Timberwolves-Celtics prediction, odds, and pick we have laid out below.

FanDuel March Madness

Minnesota is coming off a dominant 116-95 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Karl-Anthony Towns led a balanced attack for the Timberwolves with 20 points and nine rebounds. Four other Minnesota players scored in double figures. The Timberwolves have won five of their last seven games as they close in on the sixth-seeded Denver Nuggets for the final outright playoff berth.

Meanwhile, Boston put a beatdown on the Utah Jazz last Wednesday, 125-97. Their star wing tandem of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown dropped 26 points apiece, while Marcus Smart dished out a career-best 13 assists. The Celtics have won five straight games and 10 of their last 11.

This should be an interesting matchup between two of the best teams in the NBA since the All-Star break. Boston and Minnesota have the No. 1 and No. 2 offensive and net ratings, respectively, in the Association over this stretch.

NBA odds: TimberwolvesCeltics Odds

Minnesota Timberwolves: +6 (-115)

Boston Celtics: -6 (-105)

Over: 228 (-110)

Under: 228 (-110)

Why the Timberwolves could cover the spread

The Timberwolves must be one of the better feel-good stories of the season, considering not many saw them being 11 games above .500 (43-32) at this point of the season. As mentioned, Minnesota has been rolling since the All-Star break. They've gone 12-4 and own the best pace in the league since the intermission.

It's easy to see why they're the underdogs, however, since they are going up against the best team in the league in that same period. Still, it might help Minnesota on Sunday that Boston will be without Al Horford, who is dealing with personal matters. The Celtics have also listed Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown as probable, which further favors the Timberwolves.

On their side, Malik Beasley and Jaden McDaniels are out as both are dealing with left ankle sprains. Jordan McLaughlin is also questionable due to a left quad contusion.

Minnesota has gone 41-32 against the spread this season but is just 18-19 on the road and 14-12 against East teams.

Why the Celtics could cover the spread

Well, as we've been stressing in this piece, Boston has been the best team in the league since the All-Star break with a 12-2 record and the top net rating in the NBA. They also have the best offense and third-best defense, so that's a good start if you want to consider taking them for this game.

The Celtics have been on a tear the last two months of the season. Get this: they entered February with a 27-25 mark, just two games above .500. Now, they're at 46-28 — they've lost just three times in 22 games.

It's certainly a bit worrisome that the Celtics have listed Jayson Tatum (right patella tendinopathy) and Jaylen Brown (right knee soreness) on the injuy report. We should hear more about their status the closer we get to tip off at 6 p.m. ET. What's certain is that Al Horford won't be around due to personal matters. But Boston has proven to have enough depth to still succeed.

The Celtics hold a 38-33 record against the spread and are 25-12 at home and 16-12 against the West.

Final TimberwolvesCeltics prediction and pick

Boston should be the safer pick here. It's tough to go against the Celtics right now, since they've barely lost in two months. Of course, a lot of this hinges on whether Tatum and Brown are available. Watch closely on their status throughout the afternoon before making a decision. If both are good to go, roll with Boston. If both sit out, it might be better to consider flipping to Minnesota.

Final TimberwolvesCeltics Prediction & Pick: Celtics: -6 (-105)
