The Warriors have looked the part of best team in the NBA so far this season and the advanced numbers back that up. Golden State is first in the NBA with a +13.1 net rating. While everyone knows how good they are on offense, the Warriors rank first in the NBA in defensive efficiency allowing just 98.9 points per 100 possessions.Stephen Curry and Draymond Green have a new cast of both guys and veterans around them, and it appears to be the perfect mix, at least so far. The Warriors are a good bet to win and cover on Thursday as they have won eight of their last nine games, with all eight wins coming by double-digits. Golden State is 9-4-1 vs. the spread this season.
Why The Cavaliers Can Cover The Spread
The Cavaliers have been a pleasant surprise this season, but they may be outmatched vs. the Warriors on Thursday. Cleveland is also on a back-to-back after losing to the Nets on Wednesday. Both Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, who have been two of the Cavs best players this season, were unable to play Wednesday. Allen is day-to-day and not yet ruled out for Thursday's game, but Mobley has been ruled out for two-to-four weeks. Guard Collin Sexton also remains out injured for Cleveland. The Cavaliers are a risky play to say the least on Thursday. If Allen is unable to go, the Warriors probably close as 10-point favorites or more.
