The Golden State Warriors will face off against the Philadelphia 76ers for the second time this season in a cross-conference battle. It’s time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Warriors-Sixers prediction and pick.

The Warriors hold a record of 28-29 overall and 27-30 against the spread. Golden State is coming off a hard-fought loss to the Boston Celtics.

The Sixers hold the best record in the East at 39-17 overall and 30-23-3 against the spread. Philadelphia is coming off a victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Here’s how sportsbooks have set the opening Warriors-Sixers odds.

NBA Odds: Warriors-Sixers Odds

Golden State Warriors +10 (-110)

Philadelphia 76ers -10 (-110)

Over 223.5 Points (-110)

Under 223.5 Points (-110)

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread

Stephen Curry, Steve Kerr, Draymond Green, Kelly Oubre, Andrew Wiggins, Warriors

The Sixers have been winning games, but have struggled to cover. Despite winning four straight, Philly has only covered twice in their last five contests.

On the other hand, the Warriors have covered in four of their last five games, mostly thanks to the absolutely insane run from Steph Curry. Curry's recent numbers look like they're straight out of 2K. Over his last eight games, Steph is averaging a whopping 40.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists, all while shooting 56.5% from the field and 49.5% from three.

The Warriors sharp-shooter has hit double-digit three-pointers in three of his last four appearances, and has been simply unstoppable when he's on the floor. Curry is one of the few players in the league that can go out and single-handedly win a game for his team.

The problem for the Warriors tonight is that Curry is questionable to play with a nagging ankle injury.

While the Sixers have a lengthy injury report of their own, I refuse to back the Warriors when Curry isn't healthy. His impact on the team is irreplaceable, and watching Golden State play with Curry active and inactive is like watching two different teams.

If Curry is active tonight, I love the Warriors chance to cover a double-digit spread. If not, I'd stay far away.

Why The Sixers Could Cover The Spread

Doc Rivers, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Danny Green, Sixers predictions, NBA

Unfortunately, the biggest impact for both teams in this game is going to come from the injury report.

Just as the Warriors have a key contributor listed as questionable, the Sixers have many. Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, and Dwight Howard are all currently listed as questionable to play tonight.

With three starters and a very important bench player potentially out, it's almost impossible to make a call if the Sixers can cover this healthy spread. But there are a few factors that point in their favor.

Golden State gets a whopping 37.3% of their points from beyond the arc, the seventh highest figure in the league. The Sixers are excellent perimeter defenders, holding opponents to the eighth lowest percentage from deep.

As a group, the Sixers have several plus perimeter defenders. Ben Simmons has a legitimate shot at DPOY with his suffocating backcourt defense, and Tobias Harris, Danny Green, and Matisse Thybulle are all more than capable of slowing down opposing guards.

The Sixers have held three of their past five opponents to under 30% shooting from deep for the game, and if the Warriors don't have Steph, it wouldn't be a shocker to see the feat repeated.

Final Warriors-Sixers Prediction & Pick

The pick for this game is entirely reliant on how the injury report shakes out. You should absolutely not place a bet before we know if Steph Curry is active tonight. However, the Sixers hold a small advantage even if Curry plays. If the Warriors superstar suits up, expect the line to drop a few points to around -7.5 or 8. If he doesn't, and Simmons and Harris suit up, this line will balloon to -12 or -12.5.  Don't take the Sixers unless you can get -7.5 or better. If Curry doesn't play and Simmons is active, then you should strongly consider taking the Sixers even at -12.

FINAL SCORE PREDICTION: PHI 113, GS 107 (GS +10)
