The Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers will matchup on Monday night in an Eastern Conference matchup. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Wizards-Pacers prediction and pick.

The Wizards and Pacers come into Monday's matchup both looking to snap losing streaks. Washington has lost two in a row and will be on a back-to-back vs. Indiana in this spot. The Pacers have lost four straight but have the rest advantage over the Wizards here and may be in good position for a win. Indiana being strong favorites over the Wizards is surprising even considering the back-to-back, but alas…

Why The Wizards Can Cover The Spread

Washington had a nice start to the season but have now lost three of their last four and two in a row. The Pacers have not played since Friday, giving them a two-day rest and travel advantage over the Wizards. The Wizards have not yet submitted their injury report for Monday night, but that will definitely be something to monitor before placing any bets. Bradley Beal and Spencer Dinwiddie both struggled in Washington's loss at the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night. It's not impossible one or both of them could get a breather or play a few less minutes on the second night of a back-to-back. Beal played 35 minutes on Sunday, while Dinwiddie played 31.

On paper, the Wizards have been better than the Pacers this season. The two day rest and travel difference is largely the reason the Pacers are favored. Washington is tied for the fourth best record in the East, but actually has a worse point differential than the 9-16 Pacers this season. The Wizards are 6-7 on the road and 12-12 vs. the spread so far this season.

Why The Pacers Can Cover The Spread

The Pacers are well-rested and should be eager to snap their four-game losing streak. Indiana somehow has a positive point differential this season despite their 9-16 record. The Pacers have also lost three straight home games, so they will be looking to snap that skid as well. Domantas Sabonis is enjoying another great season, but it hasn't yet translated to consistency for the Pacers. Malcolm Brogdon and Myles Turner have also been solid for Indiana. The Pacers' record should improve some over the course of the season, and Monday might be a favorable spot to get them some momentum going forward. Despite being solid favorites over a team that was been better than them on paper, the Pacers are a decent play to win and cover on Monday evening.

The Pacers are 12-13 vs. the spread and 6-6 at home this season.

Final Wizards-Pacers Prediction & Pick

Take the Pacers to win and cover vs. Washington on Monday. This may seem like an unpopular pick with a 9-16 team laying this many points, but Indiana is rested and better than their win-loss record would indicate. The Pacers are bound for some good luck at some point, so why not here. The Wizards have been struggling of late and are in a difficult spot as they played in Canada on Sunday night before traveling south to Indiana for Monday's tilt.

Final Wizards-Pacers Prediction & Pick: Pacers -6 (-110)
