Barcelona head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius said the team hasn't spoken to NBA center Marc Gasol, at least not yet.

A report surfaced on Wednesday that Gasol is planning to leave the NBA and continue his basketball career with FC Barcelona.

However, Jasikevicius denied those rumors.

Marc Gasol becomes an unrestricted free agent once the offseason period begins. The three-time NBA All-Star averaged 7.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game during the 2019-20 campaign with the Raptors, while shooting 42.7 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from beyond the arc and 73.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Raptors, who won the 2019 NBA title over the Golden State Warriors in six games, fell to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the 2020 postseason at Walt Disney World. Without superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard, the Raptors had a stellar regular season but couldn't get past the Celtics in the playoffs.

They did, however, take the Beantown team to seven epic games before bowing out of postseason contention.

It will be interesting to see what Gasol ends up doing. The former Memphis Grizzlies star has career NBA averages of 14.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists with the Grizzlies and Raptors. Gasol also won the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year Award.

It would be strange to see the NBA without both Gasol brothers, that's for certain. Both Pau and Marc should make the Hall of Fame one day.
