Former free agent Greg Monroe seems to be headed to Germany to play for Bayern Munich.

The basketball team tweeted that they had a big announcement, posting a graphic with a silhouette of a player. Twitter, of course, quickly found out whose silhouette it was, prompting speculations that Monroe will sign with the German club.

On the other hand, according to Nikos Varlas of EuroHoops.net, Monroe signed a one-year deal with Bayern Munich.

Monroe is a nine-year NBA veteran who has played for six different franchises.

The big man started his career in Detroit where he had his best time as a pro. As a Piston, he gained a reputation as a physical center who has a knack for raking in double-doubles. In his final season with the team, he averaged 15.9 points and 10.2 rebounds while shooting 49.6 percent from the field.

In 2015, Monroe signed a three year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. He played well his first two seasons, but the Bucks traded him to Phoenix after he was relegated to a bench role. This began a journey that saw Monroe play for five different teams in two years. After Phoenix, Monroe played for Boston, Toronto and Philadelphia.

Now, Monroe starts a new chapter in his life with Bayern Munich. While the club might be better known for their world-class soccer team, perhaps they can help Monroe impress and make a return to the NBA eventually.
