Marc Gasol will be playing for either the Toronto Raptors or Los Angeles Lakers next season, according to Sham Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Gasol was considering the Dallas Mavericks in recent days as well before narrowing his choices down to two.

The Raptors are making a hard press to retain Gasol in efforts to present some form of strength in the frontcourt. The success of their season could heavily rely on their ability to keep the Spaniard in the fold after losing out on Serge Ibaka to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

If the Raptors aren't able to convince Gasol on re-signing, Marc Stein of The New York Times reports that Markieff Morris could be at the top of their list as a potential replacement in the frontcourt. Morris spent part of last season playing for the Lakers, becoming a contributor in the frontcourt.

The Lakers are still trying to find a way to make a better offer for Gasol, with one possible route being trading JaVale McGee. Stein reports the New York Knicks as a trade candidate for McGee.

As for the Raptors, they were always heavily rumored to run the risk of losing some of their free agents this offseason. They were, however, able to retain their No. 1 priority in Fred VanVleet. Bringing back Marc Gasol would be ideal, but there are other options.
