The NBA trade deadline came and went with nothing to report from the Los Angeles Lakers, who opted to stand pat despite a roster struggling to stay afloat in the Western Conference. Lakers fans will be very disappointed to hear that there was reportedly a trade in the works with the Houston Rockets involving star guard Russell Westbrook and John Wall of the Rockets, as reported by Lakers Daily. However, to the frustration of LA fans, the move was not to be.

As it turns out, fans are going to be a lot more disappointed given the recent report that the Lakers were working on a monster deal that would have sent Russell Westbrook, Talen Horton-Tucker and a future first-round pick to the Houston Rockets for John Wall and Christian Wood.

This s a wild Lakers-Rockets NBA trade deadline proposal. Such a move between the Lakers and Rockets would have broken up the ill-advised Russell Westbrook-LA partnership while giving the Lakers not one, but two talented players in John Wall and Christian Wood.

While it would have hurt to send Talen Horton-Tucker to the Rockets in this NBA trade deadline proposal, Los Angeles fans would gladly take a core of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Wall and Wood rather than the squad they have currently.

LA fans will be left to wonder about what could have been at the NBA trade deadline.
