The Washington Wizards have decided to trade Jordan McRae to the Denver Nuggets for Shabazz Napier, according to a report from Candace Buckner of The Washington Post.

McRae, now 28 years of age, has played for several teams since entering the NBA as a second-round pick in 2014, including the Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and most recently, the Wizards. The former Tennessee Volunteer has also spent time in the G League, playing for the Deleware 87ers and Canton Charge.

McRae has stepped his game up this season. In his 29 appearances with the Wizards (four starts), McRae racked up averages of 12.8 points on 42.0 percent shooting fro the field (37.7 percent from beyond the arc), 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 22.6 minutes per outing.

Napier, also 28 years of age, was taken by the Charlotte Hornets with the 24th overall pick in 2014, though he was traded to the Miami Heat on draft night. Aside from his stint in Miami, the Massachusetts native has also played for the Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves.

In his 36 games played this season (22 starts) with the Timberwolves, Napier has recorded averages of 9.6 points on 40.3 percent shooting from the field (29.6 percent from beyond the arc), 5.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 23.8 minutes per contest.

With Isaiah Thomas heading to the Los Angeles Clippers, Napier should be able to find minutes with the Wizards.
