The New York Knicks have emerged as a team that would like to acquire Derrick Rose in a trade ahead of the NBA trade deadline. Amid the trade rumors between the Knicks and Detroit Pistons, the Pistons have their sights on either Frank Ntilikina or Kevin Knox, per SNY's Ian Begley.

Both the Pistons and Rose have seemingly agreed that a trade would be the best solution for both sides this season. While Rose can still play at a decent level, the Pistons aren't playoff contenders, and it's best if they give their younger pieces more playing time.

The Knicks, who could use some help at the point guard position, have expressed interest in getting Rose. Of course, Rose played most of his career with the Chicago Bulls, which is where Tom Thibodeau used to coach before becoming the head coach of the Knicks in 2020.

Seeing that Detroit is attempting to move Derrick Rose to add more youth to their roster, they have focused on Ntilikina and Knox as possible acquisitions. Ntilikina was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by New York in hopes he could evolve into their starting point guard.

However, in his first four seasons, Ntilikina has failed to live up to expectations as his offensive game has yet to catch up to his defense. At the same time, Knox has yet to prove why he was worth the No. 9 overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Knox, an athletic forward who has struggled with his shot in his career thus far, would give the Pistons a possible forward to pair with Jerami Grant.

If New York and Detroit do come to an agreement for Rose, it seems likely that either Ntilikina or Knox will be headed to the Pistons.
