Jrue Holiday has emerged as the most coveted name with only a week left before the Feb. 6 trade deadline expires. Yet the two-way guard is happy with the New Orleans Pelicans, willing to play out the rest of the 2019-20 season despite heavy interest from the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Holiday has battled speculation for the past few months, as the Pelicans appearing forced to make some moves with their chances of making the playoffs looking slim at first. Yet New Orleans has won 12 of its last 18 games since Dec. 23, giving him plenty of reason to be optimistic about his future in The Big Easy.

Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin has repeatedly vowed that the Pelicans do not intend to move their veteran players (Holiday and JJ Redick) unless there is a shift in player mindset.

The Pelicans have had the unequivocal belief in their roster construction for this entire season, and it's likely that Griffin, the architect of it all, will stick to that plan.

Several other teams are expected to join the Heat and Nuggets as Holiday trade suitors in the coming days. The Pelicans are still listening to trade calls for anyone on the roster, but their asking price remains quite hefty when it comes to Holiday.

The recent addition of rookie Zion Williamson signifies a potential playoff push is coming for the Pelicans, and Holiday will want to stick around to see if a future in New Orleans is viable. The Pelicans are currently 19-29, which is five games behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies.

Jrue Holiday is averaging 20.0 points, 6.4 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 35.5 minutes per game. He's shooting 44.5% from the field and 35.7% on 3-pointers.
