The New York Knicks have struggled to find any sort of rhythm through the first half of this season, as their 10-27 overall record can attest. Despite this fact, there are reports indicating that the team is interested in acquiring “starter-level players” ahead of the trade deadline rather than accumulating draft picks and assets.

Something worth noting on the trade deadline: Several teams in touch with the Knicks recently came away with the impression that they aren't solely focused on acquiring draft picks, expiring contracts or young players who have struggled with other teams in trades.

Those teams say the Knicks have shown an interest in acquiring starter-level players who can help the team in the short-term and in future seasons, per sources.

At 10-27, New York holding the third-worst record in the NBA. Still, it seems the team is not fully committed to being a “seller” at the trade deadline. Exactly who the Knicks have their eye on remains to be seen.

Opposing teams have already expressed interest in some of New York's players, including Dennis Smith Jr., Marcus Morris, and Bobby Portis. According to SNY, the Sixers are monitoring Morris, while the Timberwolves are looking at Smith Jr. Whether or not the Knicks are interested in dealing any of these players is also still up for debate.

The Knicks will look to snap a three-game losing streak on Wednesday night, when they'll face off against the Utah Jazz. Tip-off inside Vivint Smart Home Arena is set for 9:00 p.m. ET.
